SPRR 4211 1945-08-06 Oakridge Oregon
Southern Pacific Railroad 'AC10' Cab Forward' class 4-8-8-2 No. 4211. Built by Baldwin in 1942 as a class of 40 locomotives, all withdrawn between 1954 and 1959.
Oakridge in Oregon is set in spectacular scenery on the SPRR's main north-south route. It has a substantial freight yard and depot (station) where we see 'AC10' No. 4211, the largest type of 'cab forward', with a passenger train in August 1945.
