ex-CR Pickersgill 4-4-0 No 54463 was built in 1916 as CR No 115. It had been a long term Inverness resident but surprisingly was brought out of store in April 1962 and sent to Polmadie (along with 54465 of Motherwell and 54502 of Dumfries.) This was to provide Westinghouse brake power for hauling EMUs from Smithy Lye Sidings to Hyndland for modification. The work did not last long and by August Nos 54463 and 54502 were dumped at Carstairs, awaiting withdrawal which duly came in December and October respectively.
