Seen in store at Inverness, ex-CR Pickersgill 4-4-0 No 54463 was built in 1916 as CR No 115. It had been a long term Inverness resident but surprisingly was brought out of store in April 1962 and sent to Polmadie (along with 54465 of Motherwell and 54502 of Dumfries.) This was to provide Westinghouse brake power for hauling EMUs from Smithy Lye Sidings to Hyndland for modification. Of these three, No 54463 became the final class survivor, being withdrawn from Polmadie in December 1962.
