7037 1964-08-23 Sharpness
Distinguished from the other Castles at Sharpness by virtue of the Swindon Borough Coat of Arms, the last of the class 7037 Swindon was not disposed of there, but was shortly later "sold on" by Coopers Metals to Cashmores at Newport. Coopers Metals at Sharpness, on the Gloucestershire bank of the Severn, was a relatively small breaker's yard, and appeared to take on more condemned locomotives than it could handle at this period of time.
