7029's fresh footplate crew are on the footplate and watched by the driver and fireman who have worked into Gloucester Eastgate from Westbury she sets off for Tyseley on Sunday, 23rd. May 1965. Arriving forty minutes late at 7:30 pm. at Eastgate 7029 took water here at the head of a S.L.S. SpecialNote the Locomotive Inspector on the footplate of 7029 as they set off for Birmingham on this , the last leg of the 450 mile round Stephenson Locomotive Society Special of Sunday , 23rd. May , 1965 , with the driver's hand just visible on the Regulator. The relieved driver , complete with his pipe , together with his young fireman , with their tea cans and bag , have been replaced here at Gloucester having worked the Special from Westbury . Running from Birmingham to Salisbury this morning behind 34051 " Winston Churchill " and thence from Salisbury to Exeter and back to Westbury behind 35017 " Belgian Marine " , the Special then had 7029 for the homeward run , bypassing Bristol Temple Meads and arriving here at Gloucester at 7.30. p.m.for this crew change and a water stop but running some 40 minutes behind schedule
