I've captured "Clun Castle " on Gloucester Horton Road shed at the start of its final year in B.R. ownership on 26th. January 1965 when it was being rostered to local passenger and freight duties as well as appearing on an increasing number of Enthusiasts' Specials. She was in a reasonably good external condition , but her nameplates have been removed , presumably for security reasons and at the start of 1965 the twelve remaining " Castles " then in service were reduced to just four when a further eight were condemned that February , leaving " Clun Castle " , " Winchester Castle " , " Ince Castle " and " Hereford Castle " in service , with just " Clun Castle " destined for preservation following overhaul at Tyseley
