60086 1959-11-27 Norton

This Newcastle-Kings Cross train ran every weekday along the coastal route, arriving at Stockton about 8.45am. On 27th November 1959, No 60086 ‘Gainsborough’ is in charge, seen between Norton East and Norton South. The A3 had received a double chimney in June 1959 but would never be fitted with smoke deflectors unlike the majority of the class. Withdrawal came in November 1963.
