David Whittaker says "I was at Darlington on this day, a Tuesday, and recorded 60059 as on the Down Heart of Midlothian, the 13.00 Kings Cross - Edinburgh. Perhaps slightly unusual, as the down Heart of Midlothian was still steam worked and diagrammed for a Heaton 52B Pacific, Peterborough to Newcastle at the time, while 60059 was a 34A King's Cross engine. The following month the train became a through Deltic working."
