Southern Railway designed Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' class 4-6-2 No. 34076. Built at Brighton in June 1948 and withdrawn in Jan. 1966. Views of Bulleid's Pacifics prior to being named are a rarity. Here is two month old 34076 having not yet had its '41 Squadron' nameplates affixed. Note that it also has no smokebox numberplate. It is seen in August 1948 heading through Cheriton in Kent.
