Ex-Southern Railway Maunsell 'V' or 'Schools' class 30937 'Epsom' passses Cheriton, near Folkestone in Kent with a westbound up train. Widely regarded as one of Britain's best 4-4-0 classes, the ugly 'LeMaitre' chimney did little to improve the appearance or performance by all accounts! Wednesday 27th July 1955.
