5801 1933-06-06 Swindon

Great Western Railway Collett '58xx' class 0-4-2 Tank No. 5801. Built at Swindon in Jan. 1933 and withdrawn in Sept. 1958. Twenty of the non-autotrain fitted '58xx' class were built. Just six months old, 5801 is on station pilot duty in June 1933 at Birmingham Snow Hill. The ever-present enamel signs are prominent with the incongruous mix of ;Suttons Seeds' and 'Dewar's Whiskey'. I know which I prefer!
