A Tetbury train departing from Kemble, the loco was withdrawn in July 1958 which helps date the image. The shed-like building in the background was the pump house for the famous water tower which in turn supplied Swindon Works. The signal box too is distinctive - it was one of a small number constructed of concrete blocks within a steel framework (SRS Type 9) which were particularly associated with the Didcot-Swindon section. See Great Western Railway Journal No. 67 (Summer 2008). Again thanks to Nigel Wassell for correcting the incorrect information that came with the negative.
