It's all quiet here at Sharpness, now the end of the former line across the Severn bridge to Lydney, a span of the bridge having been brought down by a fuel barge on the night of the 25th. October, 1960.
1444 will now work back to Gloucester via Berkeley Road but it too later suffered a mishap when one of its driving axles fractured on this service thereafter sending it across to Gloucster's Barnwood Depot where condemned locomotives awaited their final trip to the breaakers' yards.
