Peter Kerslake says "A stirring scene here at Bromsgrove, the foot of the notorious Lickey bank as work stained Standard 73164 sets off to tackle the climb with its safety valves lifted indicating that its fireman has done his stuff whilst they have waited to take a banking engine from the stabling point in the far distance.
There are at least ten coaches behind its tender, so the ascent of the Lickey will doubtless be a slow one and the crew will have their work cut out for the climb up to Backwell at the summit and I bet that those cycles on the platform belong to the customary group of enthusiasts who regularly frequented this location in those happy days."
