6819 1965-07-21 Elmbridge bank Gloucester
Peter Kerslake says " I've caught 6819, 'Highnam Grange', a Pontypool Road shedded engine in previous years here on an overcast 21st. July 1965 as she climbs away northwards from Gloucester on Elmbridge bank with the Walls Ice Cream factory just visible in the left background. The lamp code is for a fitted freight and 6819 is in the condition typical for most of the remaining steam motive power in this, the final months for Western Region steam operations, but with a number of South Wales Motive Power Depots, in addition to Bristol's Barrow Road, remaining open to steam there was still plenty to see and record passing through Gloucester".
