One of my better efforts on Gloucester's avoiding line with a panoramic view looking towards Cheltenham at 7 p.m. on a delightful Summer Saturday evening on 31st. July 1965 with 6871, minus number and nameplates, as was usual for this late stage of Western region steam unfortunately.
6871, "Bourton Grange" had been allocated to 86G, Pontypool Road, in days past, and my records show that this was a regular Saturday evening freight with 6871 having just taken water at South Junction before heading West up to Tuffley Junction.
