8025 1933-08-06 Clacton-on-Sea MPD

Ex-Great Eastern Railway J. Holden 'T19 Rebuilt' (LNER 'D13') class 4-4-0 No. 8025. Built at Stratford in March 1906 as GER No. 1025 and withdrawn in Octobver 1936.

Seen at a location that was infrequently photographed, 8025 is shunting loco coal wagons at Clacton-on-Sea MPD in August 1933. These compact 4-4-0s were rapidly relegated to lesser duties after the introduction of the 'Claud Hamilton' 4-4-0s. The last of the class was withdrawn in 1944.
The LNER (ex GNR) 8T loco coal wagon number 601256 still has brakes one side only and is branded Empty to Denby or Cadeby(?) Colliery LNE.
