BR Britannia 4-6-2 No 70022 Tornado leaves Bristol Temple Meads with a Down express for the West Country in c1952.
Peter Kerslake adds "Someone in authority decided that Newton Abbot depot should have just one Britannia and so from April 1952 70022 Tornado had a relatively easy life spending most of its time running between Newton Abbot and Bristol on daily 'Out and Back' rosters, frequently on the 'Devonian'. In this view Tornado is working back to its home shed. It was transferred to Canton in December 1956 and then to the London Midland Region at Carlisle Kingmoor in September 1961 from where it was condemned in December 1967. "
