70026 1955-07-16 Paddington

No 70026 Polar Star departs from Paddington with the 'Red Dragon' for Cardiff on July 16, 1955.
Peter Kerslake says "70026 was the engine derailed in the fatal crash in November 1955 which claimed eleven lives at Milton between Steventon and Didcot when working a Womens' Institute Sunday special duty from Wales to Paddington which had been diverted via Gloucester and Sapperton.
Polar Star was the second of the five Britannias allocated to Cardiff Canton in late 1952 and was there until September 1961 when it was transferred to the London Midland Region."
