70000 Britannia near Ardleigh east of Colchester in August 1955 on ‘The Day Continental’, the boat train which ran during the middle of the day between Liverpool Street and Harwich Parkeston Quay. This and its companion train ‘The Hook Continental’ were regular duties for 70000 throughout the 1950s and it was effectively out-stationed from Stratford at Parkeston Quay, although worked by Stratford men.
