One of the six of ‘61xx’ class engines transferred to Tyseley in 1953 to replace BR Standard ‘82xxx’ Class 3 2-6-2Ts, No.6139 appears to have taken over a Down express from a failed passenger engine judging by the stock with its headboards. It still has its local passenger headlamp which reinforces the case that it was an emergency substitute.
