This picture of 1002 was taken in the terrible winter of 1962/3 when diesels were grounded due to their train heating boilers freezing up. The County was deputising for a diesel on a Cheltenham train and running 40 minutes late. David heard it long before it came into view. Driver probably not in the best of humours.
