5507 1927 Holloway
On the down Queen of Scots Pullman.
Peter Kerslake says "In pristine condition, due I suspect either to the efforts of the cleaners earlier that morning at Kings cross depot or possibly those at his home shed at Leeds Copley Hill "Improved Director" 5507 "Gerard Powys Dewhurst" climbs Holloway bank and away from Kings Cross with the down "Queen of Scots" Pullman in 1927.
The second "Improved Director", later to become 62661 had entered sevice with the Great Central in February of 1920 and lasted for forty years until being condemned in November of 1960."
