68101 1956 Dunfermline
The unique Y9 No 68101 (built 1889) which was fitted in 1937 with a vacuum ejector so that it could shunt coaching stock at Dunfermline Upper station. As this was the only one fitted for train braking, it kept the equipment and the duties until its 8th October 1962 withdrawal. Following its arrival (from Kipps) at Dunfermline in August 1932 it had also been regularly employed on the Charlestown branch. In the background in this photograph is resident J35 No 64513.
