W13W 1954-09-26 Kensington Olympia

GWR diesel railcar No W13W at Kensington Olympia during a London Railway Society rail tour on September 26, 1954.

Peter Kerslake says "Well turned out for her special working here on the 26th of September 1954 railcar number 13 shows to advantage her smoothed and streamlined front design, complete with her array of air horns and distinctive buffers, the unit having been built in 1936 with bodywork from the Gloucester Railway and Carriage Company.
At this date she was one of 35 still operational, and my 1956 shedbook shows her to have been shedded at Cardiff Canton, but I cannot confirm that fact.
Sections of the side panels have long since been removed to allow for easier access to the bogies and running gear and unlike some others she still has the twin ventilation panels in place above her windscreen."
