GWR disel parcels car No W17W stands condemned at Swindon on April 23, 1961.

Peter Kerslake adds "This post withdrawal image of railcar number 17 seen here at Swindon shows her to have already lost parts of her power unit, with many side panels also missing from her bodywork, whilst a second railcar just visible behind appears to be missing its front windscreen.
Built in 1936, and in company with the later 1941 built 34, these two were parcels only units, with no passenger carrying provisions, and appear to have worked primarily in the London area, with number 17 being shown in 1956 as being allocated to Leamington, whilst numer 34 was at Southall."
