Peter Kerslake says "Railcar 5 was based at Bristol St. Philip's Marsh in the mid 1950s, one of five there at that time used on secondary passenger services to Weston super Mare, Weymouth and Bath as well as branch line duties on the Avonmouth and Portishead lines. Why the railcars were based at St. Philip's Marsh rather than at Bath Road is unclear but there must have been refuelling facilities at the former location for them."
