W20 1958-10-19 Cheltenham Malvern Road shed
Looking just like a preserved Didcot even with a clean GWR loco behind. W20W had been allocated to Worcester a year or so earlier. The power unit and transmission have been removed so there's work of some kind underway . In 1956 the 35 Railcars in service were spread far and wide over the Western Region's network, with Worcester having the most on its books with a total of six, closely followed by Reading, Southall and Bristol St. Philip's Marsh having five each . By 1957/ 58 the class had been reduced to a total of thirty and the last saw service in 1962
