The LMS utilised its fleet wisely, transferring locomotives far from their original territories. Bangor MPD has received a former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Aspinall '2P' class 2-4-2 Tank No. 10779. A relatively eary withdrawal in July 1937, this locomotive nonetheless saw 40 years of service even though some of its classmates lasted two decades longer!
