Unusually clean ex-LNER Thompson B1 No. 61002 'Impala' still sports its nameplates, a rarity in February 1966! The location is a very familiar one to most enthusiasts, being the loco yard at York North MPD. 61002 was built at Darlington in Sept. 1943 as LNER No. 1002 and was withdrawn in June 1967. A withdrawn BR Peppercorn A1 minus its smokebox number is seen on the right.
