Even in early times, railway companies were very aware of the publicity value of an interesting photograph. All and sundry personnel from the brassfounders department at Doncaster 'Plant' have been dutifully lined up to exhibit the impressive examples and range of their hats, oops- I meant to say brassware! What price some of those items in today's railwayana market?
