Ex-Great Eastern Railway S.D.Holden 'S69' (LNER 'B12') class 4-6-0 No. 61507. Built at Stratford in March 1913 as GER No. 1507 and withdrawn in February1953.

A really moody photograph at the 'Granite City' taken in September 1952. One of the ex-GER 'B12s', 61507 is making a smoky departure from Aberdeen Joint Station. Thirty-one of these handsome 4-6-0s were transferred by the LNER to the Great North of Scotland routes to provide more powerful motive power. When they first arrived and continuing into the early BR era they were in fully lined-out apple green livery and looked wonderful!
