Peter Kerslake says "B12/3 61516 was one of the original 71 built by the Great Eastern Railway between 1910 and 1921, with 51 constructed at Stratford and 20 built by Beardmore and Company. The odd number resulted from a replacement having to be built for the original 1506 which was condemned following an accident in 1912 at Colchester.
61516 moved to Grantham in January 1957 then Kings Lynn and Cambridge in October 1957 so would have been employed on local secondary passenger services.
