North Eastern Railway Petrol Inspection Car No. 3768. Built at York Carriage Works in May 1912 and withdrawn after being destroyed by fire in October 1921. This innovative 12-seat Petrol Inspection Car was fitted with a White & Poppe 6-cyl. engines rated at 75hp. A newly built replacement for the fire-destroyed 3768 was built (with minor modifications) in December 1923 as LNER No. 3768Y and was withdrawn in February 1939.
