BR Hunslet class 'D1/1' diesel No. 11502. Built by Hunslet of Leeds in January 1955 fitted with a 153hp Gardner engine and protective side skirts. Withdrawn in December 1966 as BR No. D2952.

A truly delightful scene at Ipswich in May 1956 that is packed full of period interest. Sadly within a couple of decades, such sights in Britain's docks and harbours will largely be consigned to history.
