When BR was introducing its various classes of 0-6-0 Diesel Shunters, the 'Class 10' of which 146 examples were built 1955-62 did not have anything like the amazing longevity of the similar '08' class. In fact all the 'Class 10s' had been withdrawn or sold out of service by June 1972. No. 13151 (later D3151) is brand new at Darlington Works in August 1955. It was withdrawn in Dec. 1967.
