BR 'Class 45' 1Co-Co1 Diesel No, 45022 'Lytham St. Anne's'. Built at Crewe in February 1962 as BR No. D60 and withdrawn in July 1987. From the excellent vantage point of Kirkgate West Box, 45022 is seen c.1974 taking the short, steeply curved link up to Wakefield Westgate Station. Local landmarks are the factory of 'Crystal Spring Citra' soft drinks and the imposing and forbidding 1851 built 'Union Workhouse' atop Park Hill, latterly a care home.
