A crisp study of BR 'D2/7' No. 11118 on a gloomy day at Leeds Stourton MPD. The ex-Midland Railway shed at Stourton was on the south eastern approaches to Leeds and the adjacent freight yards and was home to a modest allocation of freight locomotives. This 'D2/7' 0-6-0 Shunter is seen with its original LMS-style numbering in this March 1956 portrait. As one of a class of only ten locomotives, it was built by Hudswell Clarke of Leeds in Jan. 1956 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1967 as BR No. D2502.
