12A Kingmoor Black Five 44884 storms through Carstairs station with a Northbound Class H Through Freight. The station was then pure Caley, with a fine footbridge as seen here. The structures, with their canopies cut back and the cover of the footbridge removed, would survive rationalisation and electrification but by 1997 the buildings were in such a poor condition they were demolished, leaving just the uncovered footbridge to the island platform surviving.
