Stanier Class ‘5’ 4-6-0 No 44884 from Kingmoor heads a northbound Class ‘C’ express freight as it passes Penrith No 2 signal box in 1966. The train is interesting consisting of four container wagons, ten vans and a couple of fitted opens, but in the middle of the train are nine modern tanks without any branding, and it is possible to speculate that they are new empties.
