45232 1963 Burton

45232 1963 Burton

One of the ubiquitous 'Black Fives' No.45232 leaving Burton with a southbound freight in 1963. Its home shed had been Newton Heath since 1938 but it left there for Bolton in December 1962 before moving to Burton in May 1963.
Mike Hughes adds " I think this is a northbound freight train heading away for Burton on Trent station and about to pass Haywoods Farm bridge. The bridge in the background is the Wetmore Rd bridge and the building on the right is Werneth Rubber Works. The Haywoods Farm bridge no longer exists. "
