On April 26th 1959, a southbound diverted express passes Redmarshall East on its way to Northallerton (via Stockton) where it will rejoin the ECML. The lovely ex-NER lower quadrant signals (in excellent condition) were taken down a few weeks later. In charge of the train is roller bearing fitted A1 No 60155 ‘Borderer’.
