BR Peppercorn 'A1' class 4-6-2 No.60121 'Silurian'. Built at Doncaster in December 1948 and withdrawn in October 1965.

This beautiful, atmospheric scene at York MPD features 'Silurian' and an unidentified 'V2'. 60121 was allocated to York its entire life and was on of the last 'A1s' in service when withdrawn. It was named after 'Silurian' (1919-1937), the winner of the 1923 Doncaster cup.
