E718 1930c Meldon viaduct

T9 4-4-0 No E718 crosses Meldon viaduct with an Exter to Pymouth train in c1930.

Peter Kerslake says "Having passed the Meldon Quarry part of which is just viisible on the left, this working is riding 120 feet above the West Okement river on Meldon Viaduct, constructd of steel rather than the customary stone and opened with its single track by the LS.W.R. in 1874 but with a second bridge constructed in 1878 to form the double track seen here .
This westbound working down to Plymouth is on the later bridge, constructed just over seven feet from the original seen here on the left".
