61421 1950s Newcastle Central
One of York's many B16s rolls into Newcastle Central Station in the 1950s. The turrets of Newcastle Castle are visible above the loco and the rear of the train has just crossed Newcastle's High Level Bridge. 61421 was built at Darlington in Nov. 1929 as LNER No. 926, rebuilt to class 'B16/2' in Mar. 1940 and was withdrawn in June 1964
