9332 1938-08-04 Edinburgh Princes Street Gardens

Ex-North British Railway Reid 'K' (LNER 'D33') class 4-4-0 No. 9332. Built at Cowlairs in December 1909 as NBR No. 332 and withdrawn in June 1951 as BR No. 62461.

The approach to Edinburgh's Waverley Station passes through the most attractive setting of Princes Street Gardens. Convenient footbridges offered excellent vantage points for photographers as witnessed here. It is August 1938 and 'D33' 4-4-0 No. 9332 is arriving with a 'local' train from Glasgow. After servicing at Haymarket MPD, it will return to Hyndland in western Glasgow later the same day.
