LNER No 9639, Class D31 on Eastfield’s turntable in the 1920s. Built in August 1890, this member of the 48 strong class survived until October 1935. Seven entered BR service and the class became extinct with withdrawal of No 62281 (ex-LNER No 9635) in December 1952.
