Ex-London & North Western Railway Webb 'G1' class 0-8-0 No. 9377. Built at Crewe in November 1902 as 'B' class compond, rebuilt to class 'G1' in March 1922 and futher rebuilt to class 'G2A' in June 1940. Withdrawn in October 1962 as BR No. 49377.

If ever a class could be described as 'ten new handles and four new broom heads' it is the much-rebuilt 'Super Ds' of the L&NWR. For a simple, rugged and uncomplicated machine, their history is complex and fascinating. Here's 9377 at Rugby MPD in August 1938 and she has almost another quarter-century of wheezing to undergo!
