She was the first of the new build G2s entering traffic in Nov 1921 as LNWR 485. The increase in boiler pressure from 160 to 175 psi was the main difference from the G1s but externally there was no real difference. LMS no applied July 1928 but not certain when Belpaire firebox fitted - possibly at same time. Note that she has a LNWR chimney and there are no fabricated tender rear steps as a tender cab had yet to be fitted. She would later be preserved and return to steam, compare to the preserved photos!
