In one of the variants of early BR transitional livery, 42826 at Cricklewood in around 1952 is lined out with 8in Gill Sans cab numbers and 10in BRITISH RAILWAYS lettering on the tender. It had been renumbered in December 1948.and has single air relief valves and original buffers with packing pieces. 42826 had been transferred from Saltley to Burton at the end of November 1951.
